Online Process Overview
Helpful tutorial videos to help you out during the process....yeah, they are included at no extra cost.
The online process does not require you to enter SSN's or full account numbers. It is interactive, which means that you will submit online forms, will communicate with staff, and staff will complete internal forms as well. It is an attorney-client process...not a do-it-yourself system. Accordingly, at times you will need to wait for staff to complete internal forms before you are moved along to the next step in the process. The process will take time so please do not expect to finish your plan in one sitting. Scroll down to read additional details about the process.
Step One - Conflict Check, Fee Agreement, Initial Payment, & Client Portal Creation.
Mr. Edwards cannot represent you if there is a conflict of interest. A conflict of interest may arise where the Office already represents another person or entity with whom you presently have a conflict. Here is an example: if the Office represents someone suing you, then it would be a very bad idea for you to turn over your financial information to the office. Common sense. When such conflicts arise, the Office cannot represent you.
The process, accordingly, starts after you submit your online conflict of interest form. There is no charge to submit your conflict of interest form and you will not be required to provide your credit card information on same. A staff member will review your conflict of interest form and then complete an internal form that will notify you by e-mail that either the Office cannot represent you because a conflict exists or that no conflict exists and the Office can represent you. If no conflict exists, you will then receive e-mails with links to online forms which will require you to do the following: 1) agree to our attorney-client fee agreement; and 2) tender a non-refundable $100.00 payment, which will be applied towards your total plan price. After payment is received, the Office will create your secure client portal so that you can begin to upload any document(s) that could be relevant for the Office in creating your plan (example, a prior estate planning document). Step Two - Preliminary Interview.
If there is no conflict of interest, you have agreed to the fee agreement and have paid your $100.00 starting fee, you will then be prompted to schedule an appointment with Mr. Edwards for your preliminary telephonic or a brief video chat interview (for married couples, both spouses will have to be on the line.video chat). At the conclusion of your preliminary interview, you will then be moved along in the process to step three.
Step Three - Client Intake Form Submissions, Final Phone Call, Final Payment & Plan Drafting.
After your preliminary interview, the Office will e-mail your Online Client Intake Form ("Form II"). Form II has been personally designed by Mr. Edwards with each client in mind. As your forms are received, the Office will begin to analyze your data and contact you for additional information needed to complete your plan. After all forms are submitted, a final phone call will take place to ensure that we are on the same page. After the final phone call is made, you will then make your final payment. Thereafter, the Office will draft your plan documents and notify you when they have been uploaded to your secure client portal. The online process has the following convenient features:
- Tutorial videos by attorney Edwards to help clarify key concepts.
- Forms broken up into convenient online sections.
- As you complete and submit each section, a new e-mail is automatically sent to you confirming your information was received and providing you with a hyperlink to the next section.
- Automatic reminder e-mails for each section to help you and I keep on track.
- Form secured with SSL and secure check-out provided through PayPal.
- No SSN and/or full account numbers are required to be provided in the form (DO NOT INCLUDE THEM).
- Designed personally by me to get the critical data I need to complete your plan.
